Where are your engineers located, and do they speak English?
Our engineers work from our office in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Every one of them passed a live English conversation before they ever reached a client shortlist. Only about a third of candidates clear that screen. You'll notice it on the first call: these are people who can explain a technical decision, push back when something's off, and hold their own in a standup.
How is this different from Toptal, Upwork, or an offshore agency?
Marketplaces hand you a freelancer and disappear. Agencies stack layers between you and the person doing the work. We do neither. Our engineers work from our office, on our equipment, with benefits we provide, and you work with them directly. There's no subcontractor chain and no rotating bench of strangers. Fewer than 1 in 20 of our people leave in a given year, so the engineer you start with is the engineer you keep.
Who owns the code and IP?
You do. All of it, from day one. Work happens in your repositories, under your access controls, and we never retain copies. Every engineer signs an NDA before any project context is shared, access is granted on a need-to-know basis, and it's revoked the day an engagement ends. They also work from our office on equipment we provide, which means your code isn't sitting on random personal laptops. If you're in a regulated industry, we can walk you through our compliance practices on the call.
What if the engineer doesn't work out?
Tell us and we swap them for free. No fee, no forms, no need to build a case. It's written into every contract. It doesn't happen often, and when it does, it's usually resolved within a couple of weeks.
How fast can someone actually start?
Most clients go from first call to a working engineer in about 30 days, sometimes as fast as 21. Once you've picked your candidate, onboarding takes days. The variable is usually your interview schedule, since you run the technical interviews yourself. Rare or highly specialized roles can take longer, and we'll tell you that upfront rather than pretend otherwise.
What roles can you fill besides developers?
QA engineers, DevOps and cloud engineers, data engineers, and supporting roles like UX when your team needs one. Some clients hire a single QA person and nothing else. Others build a full mixed team. Both work fine.
How does billing work?
You interview candidates for free. There's no deposit and no placement fee. Your first invoice arrives a month after your engineer starts, and it's a flat monthly rate after that. No hidden costs on your side, since we cover their benefits, equipment, and office. And there are no long lock-ins. Clients stay because it's working.
Do they work our hours?
Yes, your actual hours. Santo Domingo sits in the Eastern time zone's neighborhood, so East Coast overlap is natural. If your team runs on Pacific or Central time, our engineers match that instead. Same standups, same Slack, same on-call windows as the rest of your team.
